Sliding Fire Door Kits
What are Sliding Fire Door Kits?
Sliding fire pocket door kits (fd30/fd60) are used to protect a property from fire damage. Sliding doors work extremely well in environments where there may not be enough space for a regular fire door. This includes rooms such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. These doors use a pocket door system with the latest sliding door technology to allow for exceptionally easy installation.

OPERATION
In the past, regulations meant that all fire doors had to be self closing but now this is not always the case.
In response to this, we have ensured that we are prepared to meet all of our customers needs and now offer both the self closing (18950) and manually closing (18951) fire door kits.
To assemble, the door gear must be fitted alongside solid core FD30 or FD60 timber based fire doors which are CERTIFIRE approved. Assessment report WFRC No.C116602 confirms that a sliding fire door assembly, fitted in accordance with the relevant instructions will offer 30 minutes of fire protection in accordance with BS 476:Part 22:1987 (ref:report Warres No 40991).
Both Marathon fire door kits are produced to suit the Marathon range of door slides and are suitable for use with specialised timber approved doors weighing up to 90kg.
The easily operated self closing sliding door is returned automatically to the closed position after each operation by the smooth operation of the counterbalance weights. Only retain in the open position with electromagnets wired in to the fire alarm system
DOOR SEALS
It is required that intumescent fire seals be incorporated into the door framework to contain the fire within the fire area (do not use smoke seals as this will hinder self closing action.
