Complete Refurbishment of The Rectory: A Return to Architectural Roots

The Rectory has been transformed into a stunning family home, meticulously restored to its original architectural vision. SDS London is proud to have contributed to this remarkable project, providing ironmongery from start to finish to support the home’s return to its historical roots.

Originally a private residence, The Rectory had been converted into a care home before returning in 2021 to its intended role as a grand family home. The project team, led by an inspired designer, selected antique brass finishes throughout, adding an authentic touch that pays homage to the home’s historical character.

During construction, hidden treasures such as archways and original decorative architraves were uncovered, revealing details of the property’s past and allowing the team to preserve its architectural heritage. With the intent to stay true to its origins, the designer utilized the original architectural plans to guide the refurbishment, creating an authentic link to the home’s early design.

Adding a personal touch, the family crest was engraved onto lock forends and brass key rings, weaving family history into the very fabric of the home. This thoughtful detail, combined with antique brass fittings and carefully restored features, has brought both heritage and warmth back to The Rectory.

This project is a testament to SDS London’s commitment to honoring the stories behind each property we are fortunate enough to work on, showcasing the beauty and history that thoughtful ironmongery can help bring to life.
