What is scheduling?

Scheduling is the process of correctly listing all the items of hardware required for each door (and window) opening in a project.

How much does it cost?

We will work with you to produce an ironmongery schedule free of charge as we believe its an important service and key to ensuring all regulations are adhered to.

Why do I need a schedule?

Having a schedule is very beneficial as, firstly, it ensures the requirements of security, fire safety and functionality are met. Further to this, it also ensures that the requirements of legislation and regulations are met. Scheduling contributes to the building's overall design, increases the quality of the environment for users and can potentially reduce the cost of a building's maintenance throughout its lifetime.

What does our service include?

Our service includes meeting with architects, designers and clients in both our offices and showrooms or on-site to go through the floor plans, sample products and walk through the project. we are also happy to work from electronic plans. We aim to form relationships which are built on excellent service, trust and understanding.  Many of our clients have worked closely with us on numerous projects over many years and we feel that this is a testament to our professional working practices.
We also offer a master key schedule service.  Master key schedules can be particularly challenging and we have our own team dedicated to both drawing up and manufacturing master-keyed locks and cylinders from a simple pair keyed alike to complex grand master suites with multiple sub-masters.

Who Produces the Schedule?

Our team of guild qualified schedulers will produce one for you. Producing schedules is an art in itself and our team are very experienced and crafted in this area. The entire specification team are all current members of the Institute of Architectural Ironmongery (IAI) and therefore are registered Architectural Ironmongers and committed to ongoing education within our field.

Guild of Architectural Ironmongery (GAI) - Who are they and what do they do?

When we refer to our 'guild qualified staff' we mean that they have been educated by the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI).  The GAI is a trade body solely dedicated to the promotion of architectural ironmongery as a business, be it the manufacturers of ironmongery or the retailers of the ironmongery related products.  At the very core of what the GAI do is their educational programme, a three year diploma tailored specifically to educate people in all areas of ironmongery.
